★★★★★★★★★★4.1 · 402 reviews · 8 hours · from $95

Cartagena’s Rosario Islands by speedboat: snorkel at Isla Grande, lunch on Playa Blanca (Isla Baru), then relax at Tierra Bomba beach clubs.

“Our tour guide was Franklin, he was amazing; spoke Spanish and English and was very helpful. On this experience you stop on 3 islands. #1 is for snorkeling. If you don’t snorkel you can wait on the island beach shore. #2 is Cholon, the party island. For the group, we had a hut in water with table, we ordered drinks here and had a good time. And finally, #3 Baru island, my personal favorite. We had lunch here and then spent the remainder of our free time out on the beach. The sand and water here felt so good. I would go back to Baru island specifically.”

Cartagena’s Totumo Mud Volcano with lunch: warm mineral mud therapy, Cienaga rinse time, and a beach-club-style meal with extras for cash.

“As many of the other reviews state you are hassled by all the people wanting you to tip them. While I understand their perspective, I think there should be a system in place to keep tourist feeling safe and not pressured to tip EVERYONE. The mud was great however, I would not recommend getting it in your hair (real or fake). The mud left a horrible black coating in my hair. Now onto the horror of the day. After the volcano we were bussed to the beach for a nice lunch and beach time. After our arrival the bus was switched out with our items on the old bus our…”

Canoe through Cartagena mangroves, crab and net fish with a private guide, then eat a filling beachfront lunch at Ciénega de la Virgen.

“Safe, fun, highly educational, personable. Highly recommend this operator & experience. Paying the pittance extra for the private island was absolutely worth it. Wait until you meet the resident racoon (but mind you, he's an ankle biter). The roads get a little crazy, but you're almost there when they do.”

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 62 reviews · 8 to 11 hours (approx.) · from $100

Five islands from Cartagena with snorkeling, lunch, and big scenery—plus a party stop. Worth it if you plan for pickup and extra island costs.

“Reserved a specific pick-up location which the tour company refused to honor. Ended up taking a taxi to the meeting location, was promised a partial refund on that but never got it. The boat tour itself mainly involved a couple snorkeling stops and the rest were bar or restaurant stops where you were overcharged for drinks and food by people recommended by the guides.”
